Cloud Provisioning
Traditional identity management solutions have focused on breaking down silo-ed and independently managed applications within an organization. Integrating business rules and employee life-cycle activities with software applications has allowed organizations to function in a more efficient, cost effective and secure manner.
The adoption of cloud based technology reintroduces silo’s into an organization. A cloud application becomes a system that needs to be independently managed in regards to credentials, account creation/removal and privilege management.
Cloud provisioning solutions allow user accounts to be managed in an automated manner that corresponds to the organization’s business rules.

Ping Identity
PingFederate, from Ping Identity, offers organization both a cloud SSO and user account management solution. PingFederate’s SaaS Provisioning integrates a corporate directory with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider’s provisioning API to automatically create, update and delete user accounts in the service provider’s directory for a selected set of users.
As a user’s information changes within the corporate directory (e.g. unit, role, title, etc.) the SaaS Provisioning will react according to the configured business rules. For example, a change in role may trigger an account creation, removal or information update. PingFederate can be used to automatically manage user accounts for Google and Salesforce.com.
